6. COMs: Consequence Data

As part of Ohio’s SPF-PFS Initiative, Ohio’s SPF-PFS Evaluation Team (OSET) worked with OhioMHAS and other state agency partners across the state of Ohio to identify and compile data on alcohol and prescription drug abuse. Secondary data on alcohol consequences were collected from several sources:

  • Ohio Department of Public Safety, Ohio Traffic Crash Facts Annual Reports
  • Ohio Incident-Based Reporting System
  • Ohio Department of Health Drug Overdose Report
  • Ohio Department of Health Bureau of Vital Statistics

OSET compiled two reports for each of Ohio’s SPF-PFS Sub-recipient Communities: one with the most recently available (2012-2016) data on prescription drug abuse consequences and one with the most recently available data (2012-2016) on alcohol abuse consequences. Additionally, OSET created quick reference guides to provide details on how communities can understand and use the consequence data reports.
