CREDENTIALING PROCESS CHANGES ON HORIZON
Prevention professionals either applying for or maintaining their prevention credential will experience an easier process within a few months. The Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals (OCDP) Board is streamlining the application and renewal process.
The changes will include the capacity for applicants and certified professionals to upload their education certificates and documents to the e-license portal, instead of e-mailing them to the OCDP Board. Credentialed professionals will also be able to download a wallet card (free) or a replacement certificate ($10) from the web portal.
The web portal will also have an application wizard to to provide guidance to users, with a goal of increased user-friendliness.
While the OCDP Board is improving the technology of the certification process, the Prevention Committee of the OCDP Board continues to provide direction on the prevention credential itself. The Prevention Committee is revising the prevention certification scope of practice, as well as other guidance documents for Ohio's prevention professionals.
